FAQ (Login)

Question

I don’t know how to log in to Hitachi University.

  • (1) Hitachi group company employees (Not including Admin IDs, Hitachi Consulting Corporation, Hitachi Vantara and One of these company's employees)
          Please click “Hitachi Group” button and you can log in to Hitachi University without entering ID/Password. However, if you are not be able to login with “Hitachi Group”,       please contact the service desk.

          When you need immediate use, please use User ID & Password" on the right by using your Hitachi University`s ID/Password. If you cannot login with ID/Password, please       refer Question2 to 8.

  • (2) Admin IDs or Hitachi Consulting Corporation employees
          Please use User ID & Password" on the right, by entering your Hitachi University`s ID/Password. If you cannot log into Hitachi University, please refer Question2 to 8.
  • (3) Hitachi Vantara employees
          Please click “Hitachi Vantara” button to login. If you can not log into Hitachi University, please contact GlobalLearningHelp@hitachivantara.com.
  • (4) One of these company's employees

          Please click “Europe” or “HAL” button to login. If you cannot log into Hitachi University, please contact servicedesk.

[Standard Login] I want to know my USER ID and password.

What is my User ID and password?

USER ID is Directory Personal ID (LDAP ID) of Hitachi group Authentication Infrastructure. Please contact the directory administrators of your company or business office if you do not know your ID.

My User ID is correct. Why can't I login?

Please see Question 3.

How do I reset my password?

How do I receive my password for Hitachi University for the first time?

Please reset your password on “Forgot Password/Change Password/New user?” page.

* Password of Hitachi University is managed independently and it is different from password registered in Hitachi-group Authentication Infrastructure.

[Standard Login] My User ID is correct. Why can't log into Hitachi University?

There is a possibility that you are not registered as a user. Only employees who meet all of the following conditions can use Hitachi University.

  • (1) Employees belonging to Hitachi group consolidated companies
  • (2) Regular employees, seconded employees or dispatched employees
          * If you are seconded within Hitachi Group, you are an Hitachi University User in host company.
  • (3) Employees that have email address registered in HCDB or Workday
          ⇒Please check by Directory Search or contact to your HR.

[Standard Login] Why have I received the message "You have entered invalid authentication credentials" when I try to log into Hitachi University?

USER ID or password might be incorrect. Please see Question 2.

[Standard Login] Why have I received the message, "This account has been temporarily disabled due to too many invalid login attempts. Please try again in 30 minutes." when I try to log into Hitachi University?

You cannot log into Hitachi University if you entered invalid authentication credentials more than 10 times. Please try to log in after 30 minutes.

[Standard Login] Why have I received the message "You have entered invalid login credentials. Please try again." when I try to reset /change my password?

USER ID might be incorrect. Please see Question 2 &3.

[Standard Login] Why haven't I received an email after resetting my password?

Following are the possible causes and solutions.

  • (1) You may not be eligible to use Hitachi University.
          ⇒Please refer Question 3 if you are eligible.
  • (2) The email may be in the spam folder of your mailbox.
          ⇒Please check if following email is sent to your spam folder.

          Email title : [Hitachi University]Password Reset

  • (3) The email address that is registered for you on HCDB or Workday may be different from the one you are using.
          ⇒Please contact to your HR.

* If you haven't received a password reset email within one hour, please try again. If you still do not receive the password reset email, please contact the service desk.

Question

[Standard Login] Why does the message "Your password has expired. Please change your password" appear when I click on the link in the password reset email (title : [Hitachi University]Password Reset) to reset my password?

  • (1) If it is more than 48 hours after you reset your password,
          After requesting a password reset, you will need to click on the link in the email you receive within 48 hours. If you click on the link after 48 hours of receiving it, it will not       work. Please retry to send reset password email from “Forgot password/Change password/New user?” screen again.
  • (2) If you get error message even though it is within 48 hours,
          Please clear your browser cache and try clicking on the link in the password reset email (title : [Hitachi University]Password Reset) again.
